Located in the heart of Dahod’s bustling commercial hub, the Vegetable Market Redevelopment Project is a landmark initiative under a government-led transformation plan.
Spanning a built-up area of 26,000 sq. ft., this project breathes new life into a vital community space while preserving its cultural roots — most notably, the cherished temple (mandir) that has long stood within the market. In the redesigned structure, the temple has been respectfully retained and elevated to the first floor, ensuring it remains a spiritual centrepiece.
This redevelopment is more than just a structural upgrade — it represents a revival of community space, a boost to local commerce, and a nod to cultural continuity.
The redesigned market complex introduces a modern, multi-level structure that significantly enhances both functionality and user experience. The new layout replaces the shortcomings of the old structure by introducing a central atrium topped with a skylight, allowing ample natural light and ventilation throughout the interior, creating a pleasant environment for vendors and visitors alike.
The development is thoughtfully structured to ensure optimal functionality, accessibility, and user experience. It addresses traffic congestion through integrated parking, enhances economic activity with commercial spaces, and supports local vendors with expanded, organized, and hygienic facilities. The design also incorporates flexible areas for community engagement and leisure, creating a vibrant, efficient, and user-friendly environment.
