DEH - Chemco House

Located in the heart of Mumbai, this newly designed 5000 sq. ft. office space moves away from conventional, segmented layouts to create a vibrant and collaborative work environment.

The planning enhances connectivity and openness, with strategically placed workstations that encourage interaction without compromising productivity. Transparent partitions and warm material palettes allow natural light to flow through, establishing a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

  • Throughout the space, interactive corners and sit-out lounges replace traditional, unused corridors. These zones encourage spontaneous conversations and relaxation, striking a balance between work and wellbeing.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Fatemi architectural elements, the design integrates cultural richness with modern functionality. A highlight of the space is the ceiling, featuring a hexagonal lighting grid interwoven with hanging planters. This concept, derived from the honeybee hive, symbolizes community, structure, and productivity. The interplay of geometry and greenery adds rhythm and energy, echoing the spirit of a connected and forward-thinking workspace. Complementing this, the workstations include lowheight partitions inspired by Fatemi jali work—merging heritage with openness and subtle privacy.

Materiality and detailing bring the space to life, with earthy textures, soft pastels, curated lighting, and biophilic accents contributing to a warm, contemporary aesthetic. The reception and waiting areas, sculpted with flowing forms and refined finishes, create a strong yet welcoming first impression.

This office represents a people-centric approach to workspace design—one that encourages collaboration, celebrates cultural identity, and integrates function with aesthetic innovation.
